HCPC

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of training, performance and conduct for 15 professions. Their function is to set and maintain standards of conduct and proficiency, with the aim of protecting the public.

They keep a register of health and care professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health and care professionals fall below those standards. 

Registration means that a health and care professional meets national standards for their training,  professional skills, health and behaviour.

BPS

British Psychological Society

The British Psychological Society is a registered charity which acts as the representative body for psychologists and psychology in the UK. It is responsible for the promotion of excellence and ethical practice in the education, science, and application of the discipline.
